Winner of several international competitions violinist Ala Voronkova graduated from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow where she studied with the legendary Yuri Yankelevich. She later completed her doctorate in violin performance with Nelly Shkolnikova at the Moscow Gniesin Institute. For several seasons she performed with the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra, the Bolshoy Chamber Orchestra and the Violinists Ensemble of the Bolshoy Theater. There she founded the Bolshoi Trio and the Bolshoi Quartet. Later, she was hired as soloist and associate concertmaster of the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and as a guest concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu. A move to Barcelona in 1991, brought her violin career on a new level thanks to the passion she puts into her performances, the lyricism of her phrasing and the virtuosity that identifies her as an exceptional interpreter. She is recognized as an authority in the Russian violin repertoire. She recorded the complete works for violin and piano of Xavier Montsalvatge and Cristobal Halffter, works by Xavier Turull, E. Granados, Rodrigo, Pomar and the complete sonatas for violin and piano by Pavel Juon. It is worth mentioning her performances with Aires Gitanos at the Palau de la Música Catalana, the DVD of the 24 Caprichos de Paganini with which he has toured throughout Europe and Latin America, and Salud de Amour, a recital for violin and piano at Carnegie Hall in New York and Sherwood Concert Hall in Chicago. Several contemporary composers have dedicated their works to Ala Voronkova including: Tapices y Disparates by Tomás Marco, Concerto for violin and orchestra “Kiev” by Xavier Benguerel, Secretos Compartidos, Concerto for violin and orchestra by Moisés Bertran, and Sonata for violin and piano and Tiento Trágico by García Morante. She currently performing as a soloist with various symphony orchestras, and is a member of the Voronkov Duo, the Glinka Quartet and is the founder of the Camerata Vivaldi and director of the Saillagouse festival in concert (France).

Guerassim Voronkov completed his studies in violin, conducting and opera with honors at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. Between 1981 and 1990 he was a member of the Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra where in 1988 he founded the Bolshoi Chamber Orchestra. In 1989 he was appointed a conductor of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory School Symphony Orchestra. He gave concerts in Russia, Austria and France. In 1991 he moved to Barcelona, Spain and since then he worked as a conductor, teacher and concert promoter. Maestro Voronkov was the founder of the orchestra Camerata Mediterranea (1993), professor and conductor of the orchestra of the Conservatorio Superior del Liceu in Barcelona, chief conductor of the symphony orchestra Académia del Gran Teatre del Liceu and assistant musical director of the Barcelona Coliseum.
Maestro Voronkov has performed in the most prestigious concert halls in Europe such as Konzerthaus in Vienna, Theatre des Champs-Elyses in Paris, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Elbphioharmonie in Hamburg and Royal Hall in London conducting orchestras such as Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London, Württembergische Philharmonie, Stuttgarter Kammerorchester, Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, Nuevo Mundo Orchestra, Bohuslav Martinu Orchuestra, Russian Philharmonia Orchestra, RT. Concert Orchestra of Ireland, Estonian National Orchestra, Orquesta Simfonica del Gran Teatre del Liceu, Orquesta Sinf.nica de Castilla y Leon, Sinfonica de Baleares, Orquesta Nacional de EL.Bano among others. He has collaborated with international artists such as Montserrat Caball., Placido Domingo, Rolando Villazón, Piotr Beczala among others. He composed music for the silent films La General (2013), Safety lust! (2015), El Gordo y el Flaco (2016), Sherlock JR (2017), and compositions Songerie for string octet (2016) and Steam suite for string quartet. In 2019 Orquesta Filarmonica de Medellin has recorded a CD of his symphonic music entitled Sounds of Dreams I. His latest recording are: Álbum de familia (2019) and Camins de vidre (2020) of Spanish composer Moises Bertran with the violinist Ala Voronkova for Columna música.
He is an Associate Professor of Conducting at the National University of Colombia in Bogota.
